R.A.O.K. your heart out!
It's our Random Acts of Kindness Week!!
This week, your challenge, should you accept it, is to act from your heart, knowing that Love is behind each act you make.
How can you show kindness toward others this week, without expecting anything in return?
Did you know that the act of generosity is actually SUPER HEALTHY for you?
The more we see our personal efforts impact someone else, the more we gain from the experience of giving.
RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS don't have to cost you any money or even much time! Generosity toward others can actually have a positive impact on our own lives.
GOAL FOR THE WEEK: Complete 5-10 RAOKs!
Here is a list of some random acts of kindness for you to sprinkle into your day. What else can you add to the list?
Smile (or "smize" under your mask!) at each person with whom you make eye contact
Hold the door open for someone
Return a cart or two to the cart corral in a supermarket parking lot
Buy the coffee of the person behind you in a drive-thru
Give a sincere compliment to someone - friend, family, or stranger! It can be about looks, service, attitude, anything that would probably make them feel nice
Call a friend. No text, no Facebook, sit down and make time for a phone call
Leave love notes sprinkled around for people to find ("You're awesome!" / "You matter!" etc)
Put a sweet note in your child's lunch box or on their pillow
Handwrite a letter to your grandma or an old friend. Put it in the mailbox with a stamp.
Let one of your teachers know how much they've influenced your life
Pick up litter around your neighborhood
Volunteer at your child's school or ask the teacher if there's anything they need. Pencils? Dry erase markers?
Bring a latte to someone at work
Let your spouse or S.O. know how much they mean to you. Look them in the eyes and say it sincerely without needing a compliment in return
Deliver donuts to first responders, healthcare workers, or police officers with a note of thanks for all they do for our community
Donate needed items to a charity (many charities have their most-needed items on their websites)
Schedule a walk with someone who might be surprised you called them but you know would love to go on a walk with you
Pay attention to the prompts: if you find yourself thinking of a certain person, let them know. You may be the one they need to hear from.
Joyful Affirmation for Embracing your Light & Generosity
Today my life will be a source of light for others.
I am grateful for my chance to shine.
I can select joyful thoughts and let them radiate into the world around me.
This day is radiant.
I allow this light and generosity to fill me with purpose and passion.
Side note: I will be off the grid for the next two weeks, on a 5,000-mile road trip with my 15-year-old daughter. I may be able to write and/or record, and I might not! Be kind to one another in the meantime. 🥰
